It’s a fast track to burnout and bullying because the world can be cruel and there will always be those who take advantage of others who are too nice.

It doesn’t mean that they can’t focus on pleasing others at all, it just needs to be channeled correctly and they need to set priorities and boundaries.

It’s impossible to please everyone, so they need to be selective about exactly who they want to please. (e. g. Their parents, their significant other, maybe even God.) They need to narrow their scope if they don’t want to be pulled in a 100 different directions.

They need to give themselves permission to say no. They should have boundaries that they aren’t willing to cross, and they need to stand by those boundaries. (e. g. They will not entertain requests from people who are blatantly disrespectful of them and they refuse to go against their personal values.)

Many people feel a sense of joy when they are able to put a smile on someone else’s face. They genuinely enjoy being helpful and being supportive of others. Serving others gives them a sense of fulfillment.

There’s nothing inherently wrong with that. A leader will appreciate a most loyal supporter and follower. But, if one is to fully own the role of a supportive follower, they should chose their leader/s wisely.

Who will they serve and why?

Also, if it is in their heart and nature to serve, they still need to learn how to carry themselves as a leader. To take on supportive role should be a preference and a choice, rather than the only role one knows how to fill.

If they actually dislike serving others, but they do it just to avoid conflict, then they are only going to grow bitter and resentful.

If it’s not their genuine calling to be of service to others in that fashion, then they are not pleasing others out of altruism and goodwill, but out of cowardice.

If that’s the case, they need to exercise courage, grow some confidence, and find their true calling and purpose.

If they are not one who will join and support the cause of another. They will need to know their own cause—their own meaning and purpose—and strive to fulfill that.

I love people who take the thoughts and feelings of others into consideration before making any choice, yet I'm not drawn to people who choose to be chameleons (choosing to let others think for them rather than think for themselves). I also am not drawn to people who legitimize not taking care of themselves, as they're too busy rescuing others. People who rescue are selfish, as they're focused more on giving themselves strokes for what they do than helping others to stand on their own two feet. Give people a hand, not a handout. Give a person a fish, and they'll have a meal for a day. Teach them to fish, and they'll have a meal for a lifetime.

Low self worth, and low confidence. Cause they have low confidence, they are looking to get validation from others. They are looking for outside sources to validate them.

If you don't have a good reputation with yourself, you will go to others for it.

    I enjoy being one, without being a total push-over. I'm not a total push-over. 😃🧐😃

I'd also prefer to only date women with my sort of personality. Certainly means to my funny mind that there'd always be minimal amicable conflict at all, if not non-existent conflict. Just peace and happy couples goals 😋🙃
