Is this statement ok In a healthy relationship

It’s okay if it’s not misused.


It’s like an emergency exit on an airplane. You shouldn’t use it unless the situation really calls for it.



If it’s an empty threat, used to control and manipulate, that’s not cool and quite toxic.


BUT, if you’re dealing with true dealbreakers, then it’s appropriate to use.


(e. g. “If you ever hit me one more time, we’re over.” or “If you don’t start seeking treatment for your meth addiction, we can’t stay together.”)


I’m talking REAL dealbreakers.


If it’s that, sure you can use it and it’s okay to use. You’re letting them clearly know your hard limits, your non-negotiables.


It’s a sign that a relationship is fragile and on the brink of ending unless something changes.


So, I would say the relationship is in danger if you’re on the edge like that.


It’s not hopeless, if you are willing to put in the work to find a solution you both can agree on.


But, it sounds solving/not-solving this issue will make or break the relationship.

For me, healthy and mature communication is a must. If I got ghosted and neglected for 3 days to be “punished” that’s a huge red flag for me personally. I don’t tolerate that kind of poor communication. I’d personally put my foot down and let them know either to never do that again, or I’m walking. Or just straight up break up with them and tell them this isn’t going to work. To each their own, but for me personally, that type of behavior is a huge dealbreaker.
