There are lots of songs about this kind of attitude. The only ones I can think off off hand are Free Bird by Lynyrd Skynyrd and Ramblin' Man by the Allman Brothers. But there are lots.

I'll admit I did that with girlfriends in my teens and 20s. We would be deeply infatuated for a while and go together for a year or two, but I would eventually decided that I didn't want to get married or spend the rest of my life with them. I guess I wanted to experience more of life.
