Make sure the toilet paper supply is stakked like some part of your closet should be overflowing. This is not a joke. I hope you never have to learn just how solid and important this advise is. I like to keep at least one full case at all times and add a third whenever I'm about halfway through the first.
Learn about each other's habits and have conversations about house habits.
Are we taking shoes off at the door? Is bringing chips into the living room OK, how much of a neat freak is everyone?
Make sure everyone's expectations are set so that you have an idea where you fit in to your new lifestyle of living with a partner.
Get out of the house together. Be careful not to spend too much time together at once. Take it slow. If this all works out you'll be living together for a very long time so be careful about overdoing your honeymoon phase because shit is going to eventually get real when the house has a problem.
Which brings me to taking inventory of the stuff that brakes. Does the hot water heater look like it's 20 years old? Is the plumbing shotty? Are you going to need a new microwave in a few weeks?
Knowing this stuff will save you from having these problems pile up in a way they never get fixed.
Talk about living together a lot. Be open with your feelings and thoughts so that you can figure out how to do this together. Remember you're a team. As long as you're on the same page and willing to follow eachother, you'll be unstoppable.
Be sure you have a way to move out if thigns don't work out. Never put yourself in a situation where you are trapped
Really its a new adventure. For a man and woman. A commitment. 1 thing is if you or him have to poo. Jus go poo. Everyone does. But that might be awkward at first. Best advice i say is make ground rules in the beggining. With chores cooking cleaning etc. Your a team now. But make sure you have 2 tvs. Sometimes you both will need space Its normal
