What's your opinion on the role of social media in relationships, and how do you manage social media boundaries with your partner?

I ask this ‘cause my boyfriend is constantly interfering with my instagram account. He always wants to know who I follow, who I message with. Do you think this is normal? Does someone who has a boyfriend have to reflect their relationship on social media? We have only been together for a few months by the way.

the bottom line is, your boyfriend has trust issues and i don't think this relationship can grow as long as he is acting like this. people like this usually don't do well with confrontation either but you really do need to set boundaries with him asap

That’s a little extreme , it pretty much means he doesn’t trust you , which is not a good thing , I know social media played a big part on destroying relationships but for a partner to constantly be snooping into your account is a huge red flag , so something is going on in your relationship for him to have a hard time trusting you , Did something happen in your relationship with him to make him not trust you? Sadly it can also mean he doesn’t trust himself , overall how is your relationship with him? Are you the type of girl that needs space? That needs time away? Do you prioritize him? My opinion is posting provocative/revealing pictures for attention is cheating.

Sexting is cheating.

Making new opposite gender friends that you ever meet in person is disrespectful to your partner and will damage the relationship.

Just have a joint social media account. That seems easiest for many people.

Or at least have a private account and don't allow messages from anyone that you aren't friends with IRL.

Social media is one of the main causes for failed relationships. People that spend too much time and energy on social media often have problems having a successful LTR.
