How do you advise the divorce rate being around 80% filed by women and the men checking out of relationships/dating?

It really doesn't matter who files. In my divorce after a 20-year marriage she filed... but in all reality its because I basically told her to. Or created the situation... which she really had no choice but to.

So she can claim what she wants... and that's fine.

Hell in dating I never went through a breakup where the woman didn't make sound as if she was breaking up with me. And honestly, I was fine with here saying she dumped me... I really didn't give a shit as long as left. No point in arguing with her over it. I was done either way.

How do I advise the rate being 80% woman filing first? I say who cares, let them. They are probably doing the guy a favor at that point, but of course this point is completely missed by woman.

"Advise"? Well, on a society-wide level, we need to reform the family laws to stop disincentivizing marriage, start teaching our daughters to see men as fellow humans with the same value they themselves have and themselves as humans with full moral agency and responsibility, and convince our sons that they're NOT, in fact, monsters for having the same sexual desires that every male mammal was given by evolution. Then changes the social attitudes of pretty much everyone who's not deeply socially conservative to start thinking of marriage as a lifelong commitment (or at least hopefully lifelong), so their first response when things get hard isn't "I'm outta here!".

But an individual can't do that. If our men are increasingly realizing how stacked against them the deck is and walking away from the table, well, I really can't blame them. It's like WOPR said; the only winning move is to not play.

Many modern marriages are based upon emotions/feelings rather than commitment. Add to that that there is often a financial incentive to divorce - one friend's aunt has been getting $9K per month in alimony for over 20 years, on top of getting half of the marital estate - and it should be easy to see why so many marriages fail.

Seriously, no man should ever get married until the "family court" system is totally revamped AND women return to being human.
