I’d like to describe myself as an introvert for sure, I’ve always been to myself and have had very little friends. However; once someone starts a conversation with me I’m usually good at continuing it. My problem is that I can’t seem to master approaching new people and just starting a conversation on my own, I’m always approached first. If I try to approach a stranger first it tends to get awkward, at least I think so.
I’ll be moving soon and none of my friends will be with me, so I’ll be alone. I’ll be needing to start from scratch and build new personal and professional relationships. How can I better develop connections and be better at networking?

Focus on getting involved in projects rather than randomly approaching strangers. It is much easier to interact with people when you are focusing on accomplishing something together than when it is just idle chit chat. Volunteer to help rather than wait to be asked. Offer suggestions or assistance when the opportunity arises, but word it as "I've found this to be helpful" rather than "This is what you should do." Don't work so hard connecting with people. That will happen naturally as you focus on the greater good.
