What are ways to not be an introvert?

I’m 100% a introvert and I hate it it’s hard for me to make friends most of the time and overall I’m just a shy person.

First off, don't change yourself for others! Good grief, I always see people telling introverts we need to talk more, get out more, have a life, etc...

But no one tells extroverts not to talk so much, mind their own businesses, or spend more time getting to know themselves. That has always irked me. If someone is quiet or introverted, they're instantly weird or different... I had people think I was stuck up because I didn't talk to them! No, I just didn't have anything to say unless they spoke to me.

If you really want to change, it needs to be gradually: while I'm still an introvert, I'm much better at reaching out and socializing (in small doses), and talking to people when I have to or feel the urge to without being too drained after. Usually extroverts tend to "kidnap" introverts and make us their friends, so if someone really likes you and your energy, they will befriend you!

Find people with common interests and hobbies that you do- that's a good way to start! For example, if you like reading, find others that like to read, get with them and discuss some books you like. Or you might be like me- you're more chatty online or behind a computer screen than in person: that's okay! Find people that share your interests or you can talk to easily, and maybe over time, open up with them more.

Introverts tend to gravitate towards people like us, or people will feel comfortable around. Meaning you can try to change all you want, but if you're not comfortable opening up to someone, it's not gonna happen, at least easily.

Like anything else in life you learn as you expose yourself more and get out of your comfort zone. Doesn't mean throw yourself out there, just find things you enjoy doing and try to join a group or something. Talk or say hi to someone you feel comfortable saying something to and build it up from there. It takes time but you also have to push yourself a little more or say good morning to someone at the grocery store etc. There's lots of way and lots of youtube videos to help you

You don't really have to because there really is nothing wrong with being an introvert. But you might be mistaking it for being shy in which you probably are. If you start loving yourself, everything what people think about you wouldn't really matter because you will start knowing yourself better than anyone else. Trying to please others just means you just want them for companion to make you secure instead of being friends with them genuinely. True friends is not quantity but it's quality. You can only have a few friends but they are quality friends who's going to last long

Write out all the things you hate to do or are too scared to do and spread them across the seven days of the week. Do at least one everyday.

For instance, talk to a guy you truly admire. Engage him in a pure discussion. But keep your emotions out of it.

In circles that you have nothing to say, ask questions. Use curiosity to penetrate such circles.

Introvert means you loose energy with others and gain it when you are alone. And the opposite for extroverts.

So you can have amazing social skills and be an introvert. You being introvert/extrovert will never change but you can train your social skills. If you are introverted I suggest you use 100% energy for social moments in few selective moments.

Boldness, self-confidence and spontaneity. Being sometimes provocative and teasing others without being vulgar and too offensive are tools of extrovert people to bind attention of others.
I'm naturally extrovert and need to brake myself often because the threshold between being interesting and being obnoxious is very thin.
Once you find the right transaction level with other person on all three personality stages (Games people play) you're practically friends with this person.

Hi, I'm 100% an introvert and shy too. There's nothing wrong with being an introvert❤️ being an introvert has a lot of positives too. But not all introverts are shy. Sometimes being shy doesn't always mean you're an introvert. But yeah being both shy and an introvert can be difficult but there's always a way around it. Try to make small talks with the people around you and don't be afraid to be judged by others. I believe in you😊 you'll find your people soon enough!

Oh no, I disagree with the other opinion, and the long list of them that you will get. I might have to dig up and repost an older explanation on why that is.

You see, this source of shyness is really important. You cannot push through it with force any more than an allergic person can push through their pain.

You find the root cause and undo it.

There is no skill to learn, rather just to unlearn.

And forcing yourself to just go out there could make things much worse.

Like... have you ever seen a tapeworm? Hook them up... they're so tasty...

No!!! Just kidding. But why would you be afraid of them? You never tasted them?

That's the same way shyness works. It's as hard to quit being shy as it is to eat a tapeworm. And even harder if the source of the shyness is still there, like is there still someone judgmental in your life? That makes it hardly possible to change.

So to fix it, don't work with the surface of your mind, work with the depth of the shyness.

Fake ot till you make it does not work. You will always keep faking it. You might get better at it, but still fake it.

Heal the trauma.
