My boyfriends mum says I look beautiful with and without makeup but look better with makeup, is this an insult?

She is kind to me and treats me to new clothes, gave us spending money for our vacation/holiday and will occasionally take me and my boyfriend out for dinner but am I good enough for her son?

whilst we was out shopping this weekend she said that I look better with makeup at first I laughed it off and said “thanks I guess” but now I keep stressing that she thinks I look ugly AF with a fresh face

but she’s almost telling me that I need it. My boyfriend is adamant that she doesn’t hate me and sometimes words things wrong

Im still so upset because I never wear makeup unless I go to an event and now im thinking to start wearing it everyday

Do I honestly look like a different person without makeup? And do I look better?

I think you look better in the first picture, but it might be because you also look happier! Do what makes you happy and ignore her.

I believe in makeup for special occasions, then you get an extra wow-factor. Wearing it every day isn't good for you, the environment, or anyone but the makeup companies.

I actually agree. You look average without the make-up but when you put on the make-up like in your second photo you look very hot. You just have one of those faces that looks really good in make-up.

I do think its rude of her to point that out. I'm sure you kind of knew that. I would by no means say you look ugly without it. You just seem enhanced a lot.
