Thankfully my parents and most of my grandparents are accepting and have dated several ethnicities themselves. I have one grandparent who would make stereotypical comments towards men of other races as he disagreed with “his” women dating outside their race. Yet, he loved to flirt outside of his. I got him together real quick. I have shut him down in regards to statements he made and now he has no choice but to accept when I date another race. I have always gone hard for whomever I’m with and have their back to the fullest. I’m a lover who will fight 🤣 But what I dont like is people who date in secret or just to make their parents mad. They never have their partners back when the truth comes to light. Ole trash ass folks... If you’re gonna go against your parents way of thinking then be ready to back that shit up and stand up to your family if they try to target the partner that you chose to bring around them... fckin idiots

I'm single but if I was dating they wouldn't know either. My mother probably would approve my choices (for the wrong reason) but my father probably wouldn't.
Either way, it's my life and I'm free to make my choices. Besides, they're both racist and xenophobic, so why would I listen to them?
My parents wouldn't kill. When I was a kid there was a single man in his 50s who had never married. I asked my dad about it and he told me he was once engaged but his parents didn't approve (he was white and she was Polynesian) so he ended it. And I remember my dad saying true love is a rare thing and knows no race and that his parents were wrong for objecting. I've dated outside my race and always had my parents blessing.
But if it was such a thing that they did object it would matter to me not, I'd proceed anyway. I'm my own man and at the end if the day I have to live with my choices and denying love would not be something I'd do.
More often then not when parents disapprove it pushes you more towards someone else. My parents hated my ex-wife, not because of race but because she was toxic as hell. It was the catalyst to us getting together.
Same with me and my wife getting married, her parents hate me, they kicked her out when she told them we were dating, it pushed us together fast. That one was race related though, they wanted her getting with an Asian guy. Jokes on them and their large number of half-Asian grandkids! lol
They still hate me to a degree, but they get along with my wife and grandkids fine now. That's really all that matters there.

It would depend on why they disapprove of my partner. If it is solely because of his race, then yes, I would go ahead and tie the knot. I would never tolerate my partner being disrespected by anyone, including my parents. Thankfully, my parents are fairly progressive, so they have no issues with me bringing home a guy who is not my race. My dad has made it immensely clear that he would judge my partner based on how well treats and takes care of me, and of course, his character.
I would not date someone who comes from a very religious background, or is religious themselves. I’m agnostic and I strongly prefer someone who shares the same values as me. My mom loves Asian babies, so if I were to bring home an East Asian guy, she would probably be over the moon. 😂

When I fell for my Asian ex, my parents and a brother have been very supportive, to extended family - I told , if anyone had any thoughts about it, they could keep these thoughts to themselves or they’d lose me.
Everyone was very respectful and loving. They even gave us lots of personalized gifts.
Well just because a parent disapproves of their child dating someone it doesn't make them racist. One mother could disprove their child dating an Asian girl and then later a White girl.

All I'll say is that my family would be okay if I brought home anyone of any race so this doesn't apply to me.

I did.. I married a muslim/Pakistani my parents disapproved because they are seen as dangerous or terrorists and my mom said white kids have it easier.. but I knew him and he wouldn't do that stuff 🤣
As for their thoughts my mom doesn't care about it any more and my dad is the same they essentially let me be with who I want.
i'm south Asian, my parents have a preference for my ethnicity but we have family and family friends who've dated and married outside of it so it wouldn't be that big of a problem, i honestly think marrying someone who's obviously religiously different (namely muslims or jews) would be a bigger problem for my external family but again they wouldn't be horrible to someone, i wouldn't put up with that towards my partner either
Considering my parents married outside their nationality I think it’s safe to say I’m in the clear. But even if they didn’t, I’d probably marry the persona I love and allow my parents to find ways to love that person too.
