My parents wouldn't kill. When I was a kid there was a single man in his 50s who had never married. I asked my dad about it and he told me he was once engaged but his parents didn't approve (he was white and she was Polynesian) so he ended it. And I remember my dad saying true love is a rare thing and knows no race and that his parents were wrong for objecting. I've dated outside my race and always had my parents blessing.
But if it was such a thing that they did object it would matter to me not, I'd proceed anyway. I'm my own man and at the end if the day I have to live with my choices and denying love would not be something I'd do.
More often then not when parents disapprove it pushes you more towards someone else. My parents hated my ex-wife, not because of race but because she was toxic as hell. It was the catalyst to us getting together.

It would depend on why they disapprove of my partner. If it is solely because of his race, then yes, I would go ahead and tie the knot. I would never tolerate my partner being disrespected by anyone, including my parents. Thankfully, my parents are fairly progressive, so they have no issues with me bringing home a guy who is not my race. My dad has made it immensely clear that he would judge my partner based on how well treats and takes care of me, and of course, his character.
I would not date someone who comes from a very religious background, or is religious themselves. I’m agnostic and I strongly prefer someone who shares the same values as me. My mom loves Asian babies, so if I were to bring home an East Asian guy, she would probably be over the moon. 😂

I think this as well. If my family ever were to say that "they don't wish me to date thoser or those people" it would never be because of their "ethnicity" (to be precise). It could however be that my family doesn't want me to date "some certain culture group types". The different cultures around the world vary a lot, and all sorts of problems can occur just from misunderstandings. Also laws in countries, that have this differing cultures, also are based on those cultures, so that's another oddity to deal with.
Not saying that people from different cultures could not have a happy family together and live a happy life until old age takes em ;-)
