You know what, you are right. I never really thought about it in that way until now. Getting flowers was just the gesture of it. Makes you feel special like this person cares about you and is thinking of you. They can do that by buying basically anything else. When you think about it, the flowers are already there in the store. If they're not bought to make someone you love feel happy and good, then they'll die in the store and be thrown away. So I really doesn't matter either way to be honest. However, I do agree that it's sad to kill the flower. I wonder if you can somehow plant it, so that it can continue to live and prosper. that has more of a special meaning when you plant it, take care of it, every season when it grows, you see it, and it reminds you of that person.
I actually bought my brothers and dad a flower after seeing that YouTube short about how men never get flowers until their funeral. That made me feel bad so I bought some for them. I got mixed reactions. My first brother thought it was really funny and he liked it. My second brother thought it was really stupid. I got his hopes up for food because I got them hyped up saying I bought them something, come into the living room and close your eyes and I proceeded to put the flower in their hand and once they felt it they could open their eyes. He said he was disappointed he thought it was going to be food. My dad was insulted by the flower. He was like, "I'm not a woman." And I told him about how guys never receive flowers until their funeral and he blew up angrily when I said that. He was like, "What are you trying to say?" Like I was promising him an early grave, completely missing the point, and blowing it out of proportion as usual. So at the end of the day, I feel like it's just a nice thing to do to make someone feel good. But anyone can easily buy anything else and still make their loved one happy.
If you dont buy flowers, they are gonna die anyway. And if no one buys flowers they won't bring to the store for dying uselessly. They are making money out of the flowers thats why they are selling. Reduction in demand always implies Reduction in supply. They are directly proportional except in specific cases. They sell because its getting sold. Stop buying and they will switch to something else.
I would hate to date you. You would make a terrible partner 😅 Every nice thing your partner would do for you you would turn it down and always look at the negative side of it. I hope you never get a girlfriend.
Likewise.
@CoffeeKiller I can see why no woman wants to date you. You’re a negative person and no one has time for that.
And you are such a positive person I love that about you. You say such nice things omg.
@CoffeeKiller You would definitely make it your goal to belittle your partner and make them miserable. I can tell you’re that type of person, and you seem to be ok with that.
Yeah and you are so uplifting omg. Since the time I am talking to you I feel so good about myself you know what I should learn this uplifting behavior from you. Preach me.
Such a positive thing to say omg! Thank you for such kind words I have never met a more positive person than you in my life. Love you too! Bye.
There isn't one negative thing I have heard from you upto now, even though I said so many mean things to you. I wish I can find someone like you. Thank you kind person. I hope you get all the things you have ever wished for.
Thats amazing not relying on men cause who needs them anyway. You go girl.
Yeah. I am glad that I didn't use contraceptives when having coitus with your mom. Otherwise I would have never seen a beautiful positive child growing up such as yourself.
Thats amazing. I am enjoying with your mom and my dad is enjoying with you such a happy family. 😊 we are gonna get more beautiful genes like you 😍
Oh dont worry, my dad will come to your house soon he is on his way for that tighter younger stuff that you mentioned before. You won't be bored for long enough.
Nope. I heard it from you, and I didn't think you would lie. Also its in our genes and your mom also tells me that she loves me in the bed so much, so I joined the dots. The apple doesn't fall far away from the tree you know? 😊
Dont worry my dad will take care of it soon. Have a ravishing day. Bbye
Flowers are cultivated specifically to be appreciated in bouquets.
I love flowers, wherever they may be.
I think that most people do.
Here's some "sense":
The "sense" of vision. Flowers are beautiful.
The "sense" of smell. Many flowers smell wonderful.
The "sense" of touch. Imagine the petals of a velvety flower bloom gliding over smooth skin.
Come on, big guy, spill it. You love flowers as much as the next person, just scream it out loud, "I LOVE FLOWERS, Sincerely, CoffeeKiller".
You can do it. I know you can, and ya want to, too, don'tcha. Yeah, I know that you want to tell everyone that you love flowers and you can't wait for some real ones to be sent to you, so here, 💐, this one is for you!
I LOVE FLOWERS
sincerely Coffee_Killer 😂
Thanks for these virtual ones I love them cause they will always be here when i wanna see them not like the ones that end up in trashcan
Well, you made a step in some direction, there.
I'll give you that. 👏
It's not quite the one I had in mind for you, but we have a start in a really good direction.
I believe that can be said to be true, apparently, on quite a few levels.
Did you shout my "ode to flowers" out loud, right where you are?
If not, nuh uh. It doesn't count towards fulfilling the terms of my suggested outcry.
But having the statement in print does gives anyone the ability to show proof that you have made the declaration that you love flowers, type or status of life unspecified.
Just flowers.
That's a start.
I'm just sayin'.
You can probably "copy and save" the actual bouquet that I sent you, but just know, there'll always be some waiting for you in the "emojis" library if you find yourself in need of a flower fix.
Sincerely,
nolabels
The flower is a gesture of some deep communication. Used in ancient times to hide romantic feelings of a boy from the parents of the girl. It was used to tell the girl that you want to make passionate love to her without her parents knowing.
But that communication has been lost in today's world though.

I agree, I don’t like flowers unless it’s Easter or graduation cause it’s temporary, I prefer food cause my body is going to be a part of my life for as long as I live.
Yeah so true.
I don’t like expensive flower bouquets. I like red roses but I prefer a single red rose as opposed to an expensive flower bouquet. If it was one of those eternal roses you get in the glass which is meant to last forever then that would be better as a gesture of expressing love. Huge flower bouquets take up a lot of space and I am a minimalist who doesn’t like clutter. I don’t like the idea of someone spending £300 on a box of expensive roses when it could have gone to better use. I would appreciate the single rose - which can be bought on Valentines day for under £30 but I don’t want bouquets of expensive roses. Nor do I like expensive gifts.
People tend to give women flowers for several other platonic reasons other than romantic reasons. We give friends and relatives flowers on moving to a new home, the birth of a baby or any major milestone. For that I think some inexpensive white or pink or even yellow flower bouquets are appropriate.
So because the flowers die you just don’t get them at all? Everything dies dude, even you and I one day. Not a single living thing is immortal, doesn’t mean we can’t enjoy our simple pleasures. I once had an elderly neighbor who’s wife passed about 7 years before him. She had a garden that she poured all her love into, so he kept it up after she died even though he hated gardening. He’d bring us tomatoes and lemons, roses when we asked. It was a beautiful gesture to remember her life and he took care of it until he passed away as well back in 2018.
Yeah garden is fine because you are tending it. The flowers that you receive or give aren't growing. They are dead from the moment they are plucked they are just rotting from that point of time. In one of the replies I did say that its better to give a pot of flowers than flowers so that they can be nurtured and grow, just like the love.
If it’s a perennial plant then you’re not killing it by picking a few blossoms. You also have to consider where those flowers are coming from and how they feed the community. For instance, are you just grabbing some wildflowers off the side of the road or taking from a community of bees and butterflies? In most cases the bouquet is being bought from a grocery store, flower shop, vendors in another country, or someplace that cultivates masses of flowers specifically to be sold. Given your logic though, if you’re so concerned with gifting a dead thing, why bother with fruits and veggies? Those get cut from the source and dying as well. What about meat? You eat that? Comes from dead animals. Like I said, I believe it’s ok to partake in simple pleasures.
Also I definitely agree that a potted plant is nicer, a lot of women actually prefer that these days, I know I love a good plant. Everyone is different though.
I am vegetarian do i say no about meat. Fruits and vegetables are useful for survival and for consumption. There is no use of a flower that has been plucked
But the point is that it’s a dead thing, and you’re probably taking away from insects that also find use for it to survive. Still you eat it. Flowers grown in a shop or somewhere specifically meant for them to be gifted does harm to no one, it takes from no insects, you can’t argue with that unless you’re just too proud to say otherwise, which would be highly unfortunate, it sucks to be a person who can never be wrong.
The main reason isn't to take it away from insects. The main reason is we have it for no use. And since we have no use in it, let the insects have fun. Since its utterly useless for us. Why assign it romantic value when their actual value is to go in trash?
So that’s the issue here, you personally find flowers useless. I find them beautiful, especially the ones that can be planted and if not then they are nice in a vase while they last.
I respect that opinion. Thank you.
☺️🙏
This book should be required reading in school.

Do you really want to know how a TV works, or do you just want to be able to turn one on?
Buy the flowers!
@BlackJeep
I know a really sweet guy. He bought his wife a very deluxe vacuum for their anniversary. I mean this fucker had am/fm radio, cruise control, power steering, headlights for night vacuuming and the works. He couldn't figure out why she wasn't excited. He could have save a fortune by just taking her to a nice dinner.
I do wish to turn one on. But believe me its not the tv that I am talking about 😆
I think roses are pretty and I wouldn't mind having a single red rose. But i agree, dont buy me a bouquet because im gonna forget to water that shit lmao. I much rather have a giant stuffed teddy bear
Yep I love to give full sized teddy. They keep reminding the person they love every time they get dirty they have to wash the shit out of it. So i always prefer to give white ones. 😂
I keep mine up high on the shelf so they never get dirty. At most may have to dust it once a year
True. Great Idea. I was just kidding before dont mind me 😄
I don't care for flowers. They are overpriced and don't live long, so seems like a bad investment to me.
Sams here! Flowers aren't romantic they are pathetic unless they are in its natural state growing. If you wish to gives someone flowers give them a flawer pot with no flowers that has grown yet. They will have to put water which metaphorically means efforts to see the relationship or flowers grow and they won't even die if they water them regularly!. Also there will be an element of surprise to which flower were to grow out of it.
I absolutely love flowers. I find them beautiful with their various colours, shapes and smells.
They appeal to that feminine delight in finding beauty in the world. I think part of the beauty is appreciating that it will be temporary. For a moment in time it's beautiful-just for your pleasure. I actually think that's what makes it special, thoughtful.
As far as the notion that they're 'just going to die anyway'. So are we, but we still live and take delight in living (for the most part). Even think of it in light of animals-why bother with a dog if they're just going to die? Why appreciate them?
I apply this same logic, and thus appreciation, to flowers.
I'm not fond of flowers either, they're beautiful, sure. But if they ain't making me any money or even a little important... probably won't take care of 'em
Because they're pretty and they smell nice. Plus when being gifted them they were thinking about you which is a nice feelings.
Dead flowers are also cool. Hang the dead bouquets from the ceiling.
"Guys, why do you give flowers to girls when you know they are going to die?"
Why do you date women if you know they are going to die?
Because you are worth dying for😂 I am kidding. The moment the flower is plucked they are already dead. Unless you are buying them flower pot, then they grow and keep reminding them of you the dying which we call otherwise is actually rotting. You wouldn't be appeased if I were to give you a dead dog would you?
Fleeting beauty doesn't detract from the moment you enjoy it.
Also, proper care will keep them longer, and it's hygenic to toss dead plants unless you want an open compost jar on your counter.
They like things which are pleasing to the senses, like sight and smell. A well kept bouquet can last a good week. If the eventual death and disposal of the flowers bothers you that much, buy her a plant.
Yep exactly my point a plant would be much better option she will have to water it and everytime she does she would think about the good memories you gave her. And she will also know that to keep the relationship grow beautiful like the flower plant, she has to make efforts too. If she forgets to water it for a few days it might start withering reminding her that she isn't putting enough efforts. Its one of the best gifts you can give her.
My husband gets me potted flowers. The orchids he got me from last year Valentine's day are still looking lovely on our dining room table.
Yeah, that's a nice gift to have.
Guys like hot cars because they are powerful and kind of shaped like a dick.
Women like flowers because... well, you get the idea.
¯\_(ツ)_/¯
I didn't get the idea honestly. 😔
same reason why people get birthday cakes, its either going to get eaten or go stale and thrown out.
Makes her feel good, boosts mood, makes happy, shows consideration and thinking of her.
Are cheaper then jewelleries and chocolates, won't make her fat like choclates would, available in every freaking garden for free, you dont need to plan for it, the list goes on and on and on. What was I thinking about when I asked the question 😂 I bet men created the trend so that theh have to put much less efforts at such things
We'll... those are required as well... haha! ya can throw 'em flowers in the compost pile when all done:)
yea, gals ain't that complex when ya think abou it, and it's simple.
I much prefer being given a potted plant for this very reason
you can always give plants with attached roots. I gave my ex a rose tree.
i mean, if you want to get all deep about this, everything dies... it's about the gesture and the feelings placed behind it... don't think too hard about it, dude...
Because they are beautiful and alive! It makes me happy seeing flowers for some reason:)
They are short lived but a nice gesture for the moment, I usually like to give something else, one time I gave her a gold dipped rose instead and it lasts forever
I like flowers, I’ll buy them myself, my boyfriend buying them specifically the ones I like prove not only that he sees that but that he cares about me
It's about the thought... of course, I give my partner flowers and she either encases them in acrylic or she dips them into rooting hormones and makes them grow new!
If you can make them grow, its a great idea to give you flowers!
I very rarely if ever give flowers. I give plants. They live.
I hate flowers… I’ve never liked them and never will.
Because it makes her feel special and makes her happy. It's not what you give, but how much love we put into giving.
While they do die, it's the thought that counts
Not all gifts are meant to last forever. Some come and go quickly. (Like chocolates. lol)
I don't throw them away I love flowers.. :(
Once they are rotten what do you do?
i dont throw them away, i find flowers too lovely
What do you do when they die?
just replace them with new lovely ones
Yeah but the old ones go to bin right?
yeah bc they died?
I rest my case your honor
why do you live if you know you are gonna die? your point does not make any sense, weird
Cause you killed the flower the moment you or your boyfriend or the overpriced retailer picked it from that bush. You are literally keeping a rotting corpse in your house mam. No offense.
i dont give flowers, i give booty rubs
I think it's the thoughts that count
It's nice gesture.
