When I get flowers, I have a vase I put them in and I set it on the kitchen table. They brighten up the room and bring about an extra cheerful feeling.

Well some do. Also flowers are considered stereotypical feminin somehow. I guess that is the reason. I do like plants but not cut flowers. Get me a basil plant and I really appreciate it, get me bouquet of tulips and I wouldn't know what to do with it. 🙈😅

It's an old tradition. Why not just explain to the guy that gives you flowers that you appreciate the idea behind it, but would prefer a more practical gift next time? That way, you not only explain your thoughts but also don't hurt him.

We are told that flowers are romantic and marketed to buy them for valentines and special occasions. Personally I try to learn something unique about the person I’m into and would get them something based on that instead

I love getting flowers! They last 1-3 weeks and smell nice. I don't throw them out until they're dead. I think flowers are a thoughtful gift.

Because most people are dumb therefore most women like flowers. When only the more rational ones realise flowers are a bad gift overall unless for certain examples of a true owner of plants who has many and keeps them alive.

My mom LOVES flowers. Anytime you get them for her, she puts them out on the table. I like to say we have our very own "greenery" in the living room, lol
