I used to have the opinion of persuading the person to ask my best friend out, but now, I’d just go out with them. They asked originally me, and probably wouldn’t like to date my friend.

I'd say yes and then have my best friend show up for the date, making an excuse that I had to unexpectedly work late but I didn't want to disappoint her, so I asked my best friend to fill in for me. He should also tell her that he's had a crush on her for quite a while. Could be an interesting date for them. If not, let's make this into a Hallmark movie.

Best option is to politely decline - odds are if she dates your friend, she'll still have feelings for you. So play wingman by introducing them at your own risk.

I reckon that if my friend is a true friend, they won’t dump me for agreeing to go out with the cute person. My friend might get disappointed, but not enough to remove me from friendship circle. BFF is forever.
