Why would a man not admit he doesn't love his girlfriend anymore?

If you're a man who obviously aren't in love with your girlfriend anymore, why would you deny it everytime she tries to talk about it? Consider in this case that your sex life is basically dead and you provide the big majority of money for the two of you. What is there to gain from letting yourself stuck in this situation when she gives you the opportunity to get free? Are some guys THAT bothered to be seen like a bad guy or something? Please help 🥲 Asking to women too in case you have been the girlfriend there

I’ve been that woman and I’ve seen/heard of other women being in that situation.

This is one of the negative traits guys have. They always want to be the ‘good guy’ from the outside perspective. Especially while they are doing shady things behind closed doors inside their relationship. But what is sad about this, the woman in the relationship begs the man to help her fix the relationship. If it’s falling apart. It takes two to tango.

But most guys withdraw from the responsibilities of patching up the relationship. To the point women go through emotional turmoil of depression, anger, sadness and disappointment.

The woman let’s the world know her relationship is falling apart and goes through different lengths of trying to fix it. Meanwhile, the guy is off with his buddies looking for the next partner and playing the ‘victim’ of a failed relationship. That he refuses to participate in trying to fix. Other than sticking around with sexless nights and lack of communication.

Then when the woman sees her partner does not want anything to do with her. She finally calls it quits and walks out the door.

To the men, they see this as a victory. That the world they are the victim and the hero of a failed relationship.

I was in this exact scenario a few years ago. I actually deeply loved my girlfriend but I just didn’t feel the spark anymore and for the self hating life of me I had no idea why. I used to go home and bang my head on the wall in frustration and self loathing about it.

However I will tell you there are two differences with men:

#1. Men understand that attraction and respect are two different things. He might of lost attraction for you but he likely still respects you. He doesn’t want to hurt you but he is struggling with himself. He might feel guilty af and wish he was still attracted to you but unfortunately attractive is not a choice. You either feel or you don’t.

#2. Dating is much more difficult for men in the early stages. He doesn’t want to be single and go through hell again looking for a new girlfriend. So he is sticking around and delaying the inevitable.

With that said this is scenario is very unfair to you as well. You deserve a man who wants you. He probably wants you to make the decision for him to break up so he feels less guilty.

However if you do end up dumping him do not “hate him” because he lost attraction to you. There is likely a part of him that still respects you and even loves you as a person. I know I deeply loved my ex girlfriend as a person.

But she treated me like I was less then human when she dumped me (very possibly cheated too). I understood she had hurt feelings but she took things to another level back then and some of the things she said still haunt me to this day But just because I wasn’t feeling the attraction anymore doesn’t mean I truly wanted was best for her.

Maybe he is unsure about his feelings or even is insecure himself... maybe he dont want to leave because thinks he will be alone forever... there are so many posibilities... at the end if its not about sex or money you should really think about his feelings instead of that. The behaviour of men is not only about sex and money... we are social beings just like women are...

Same reason women will stay with a guy she's no longer "excited" by.

We've all been told this narrative that " the spark fades overtime." I think for him complaceny means he still has a relationship, isn't alone, and hasn't failed in keeping a woman happy.

Break ups suck and become logistically complicated. He could be in denial emotionally, hoping it'll get better on its own, or he could be more practically focused and keeping a peaceful existence while saving up money to make life moves - new job, new apartment, taking a post break up trip.

I specified money and sex because they are often the things that men consider when deciding wether to breakup or not. There are plenty of others things indicating he doesn't love me anymore, that's why I want people to assume it is the case when replying
