My boyfriend left on vacation with his family four days ago. Today is the first day we didn't talk.

I understand wanting to talk daily. I feel like being on vacation shouldn't stop a person from communicating with their significant other. A one word text/ a 5 minute call goes a long way. At the same time, being on vacation and having a lot of fun- would you really want to be on the phone constantly?

I think if it bothers you not talking to him, just send him a quick text letting him know that you're thinking of him and you hope he's enjoying himself. Tell him you miss him and when he's free and have time, call you. Leave it at that and let him contact you when he's ready. Don't overwhelm him and make him feel like he's forced to contact you because then you may ruin his vacation. And use the time away from him to enjoy yourself. Please don't focus on him the whole time. I think that's what ruins a lot of relationships. You become so depended on the other person that you cling and push them away without noticing. A healthy relationship allows both people to remain close and still be able to give space to do what they need separately.

Yes, I think reaching out to you even just to check in or say hi should be a priority. But if he’s really busy then it may just slip his mind. Plus if you two had any qualms before he left this could be him clearing his mind.
