Is it an okay behaviour if your partner is critical of you?

Question

My boyfriend asked me to lose weight saying he wants me to be healthy , I agreed coz he’s right, then he commented that my shoulders are wide, then he kept calling me pick me from time to time for no reason because I never object him and then he said my knuckles are black & that he won’t hate me for having black knuckles that’s when I thought I should stop him or ask him to change his awfully irritating behaviour of being overly judgmental and critical of my appearance. We haven’t met & yet he’s already being so disrespectful then he thinks I’m dragging things too far by being mad at him or drawing my boundaries. He says these are just his observation and he’s not being critical well I don’t like this behaviour so I told him to change his attitude. Since then he’s gone cold and distant. What do you guys think?

Why would you have black knuckles? That's really strange.

Nothing wrong with being the best you can be , and all should strive for that , particularly with regard to weight control at under 40 , this is when you build for the rest of your life , its good to aspire and create a schedule to achieve , its lifestyle.

As for the relationship? Its doomed , don't bother meeting , get yourself right and set high standards by yourself , you don't need others to do so.

My ex used to criticise me at times, I had a strong feeling it’d come because he was that way with others in the beginning. Needless to say he’s an ex. Worst thing was he used to say it was all in my own head. Like I have enough emotional intelligence to know I see things through my own filter, but some things are just off, and that was one.

No it is not. He is not a doctor nor dietitian and he shouldn’t be insinuating what is best for you. Does he practice what he preaches?
