Me and my boyfriend were in 8 year relationship..5 years we were together in the same countrry and 3 years on ldr.. we were planning to marry this year but he told me that his feelings change due to distance.. and he think our love died.. we broke up and i heard that he is now with a new girl from his work.. but his sister (who is my friend) told me that she is a bad one and unsuitable for him..

Now at the end of this year i am traviling to his county.. do you think he will contact me.. or its over? if you were me will you give him another chance?

I'll tell you my story and you can take from it what you will. I met this girl when I was about 7 or 8 in my home country of South Africa. We grew up together and always had a connection, but never actually dated, mostly because we were too young, but we were each other's first kiss. When we were 11, her family moved to Florida, USA, and a few months later, my family moved to Arizona, USA. We lost touch for a few years as cellphones weren't as ubiquitous as they are now. My mom and I went to visit her family and some relatives in Florida when I was 16 or so, and we reconnected. After a few more visits back and forth we started "dating", as much as high schoolers could with long distance. When we were 19, we had seen each other in person two or three more times but on a visit to me, she broke up with me over the phone or my parents were taking us on a road trip. It absolutely devastated me and we lost contact for about 9 years. Then towards the end of a 5 year relationship that wasn't working out, I reached out to her again mostly just to reestablish a friendship. I'm the interim she was in an extremely abusive 8 year long relationship and was recovering from that and apparently thinking of me when I happen to reach out to her. We very quickly (maybe to quickly) started dating seriously and visited each other back and forth as often as possible. I realized that she was the only one for me and that I wanted to spend my life with her, but unfortunately I fucked up and in a depression and anxiety laden haze I broke things off because I thought I was making her unhappy. It's been a couple years now and she won't talk to me at all, but I still love her and I'm hoping we can reconnect like we did before.

TLDR: I had a similar experience where we reconnected after 9 years, but it didn't end well, but that had more to do with my mental health problems. So there is hope if he is the one for you.

This just happened to me and I am not really in a situation to give you advice because I am not moving on myself but it will be best if you find someone else and if he does love you, he will come back, but by then maybe you will find your true love in someone else and reject him or you will be back together.
