Sex from outside the relationship?

My boyfriend of 11 mo recently told me that he wants to fuck other woman and the only reason why he don’t is because he doesn’t want me to fuck another dude ( which I have no interest or want to do so). He says that every man thinks this way/wants to do so, if they say they don’t then they are either gay or lying. I don't know why but this has messed with my head for the past week.

I mean it could be that he just has a strong preference for polyamory, but like if he's getting jealous and all that I'm going to guess that he might just not be that committed to you. If this is something he's struggling with now, will he be able to keep with it for however long your relationship lasts. Like, it's completely understandable that you're uncomfortable with it. It's uncomfortable and honestly not a great things for him to say since obviously it would make you anxious.

So I don't really know the broader context and he may very well be a loving boyfriend with some poly tendencies that he's rejecting in favor of your monogamous relationship, but I think it's time to do some reflection on your relationship. Can you trust him? Are you seeing other red flags that suggest he's not as committed to you as you are to him? Do you think that he will be happy with your relationship long term if he feels this way? Do you think you both have the same eventual goals for your relationship? I hope all is well, but it's better to be cognizant and walk away from a bad relationship and blindly remain in a broken one.

Yes, it could likely be true that men want to have sex with other women. That’s why some men cheat. Just because he wants you doesn’t necessarily mean that he wants ONLY you. The thing is, most men choose not act on it because they want to keep you.
