Relationship between someone 18 and 21. Is it an issue or not?

Personally I don't think it's an issue. 2-3 age difference is not that big.

I think it depends on the couple. Are both comfortable with the relationship and like it?
Is one part (the older in this case) taking advantage of it? Do both have a similar maturity level? And do they have similar goals and ideals?
It's not the age that is the issue, it can be, but often it's not.

Whenever you are 18-20 it is an awkward time. You’re no longer in school (excluding college) but you’re not old enough to legally go out to drink and party. You’re also not fully matured (regardless if you think that you are or not), an 18 and 21 yr old could work but you’re also hitting different landmarks at those ages.

When I was that age if the guy was the younger one it would be an issue - and it was an issue for me and I could never do that.

But that same age difference in your 30's is a completely different thing - don't even feel it. But it all depends on the individuals.

I don't see anything wrong but you got to understand those 2 ages are big bc 18 you become an adult can vote get loans buy a house or car etc. at 21 you can legally drink go to bars or clubs gamble adopt a child legally teach someone how to drive get your pilots license legally rent a car in some states legally aloud to smoke.3 years a gap isn't a lot but 18 world starts to open up to but 21 the world fully opens up so different responsibilities that comes for those ages.

No, I don't think there will be any issue but these are the important years of a person's academic life where they concentrate on making their careers.

My ex girlfriend was 19 when i was 25. So age difference is not that important i guess, unless she is a minor.

It isn't to me. But to be fair when I was 21 I rejected a girl who was 17. So 21 year old me might not agree. From this vantage point the age difference is miniscule

It's legal, but, technically still not. Because 21 is the legal age to drink, some places, you can get arrested just for merely having alcohol near a "minor". And the minor doesn't even have to be drinking it
