I usually fell into infatuation very quickly. Infatuation is the feeling that people associate with love. It's the ultimate. It's like a raging bonfire. You think your partner is the most perfect person ever born and you can't get enough of them.

They say that infatuation (the honeymoon period) lasts between six months and three years.

But love us much deeper and takes longer to develop. It kind of sneaks up on you. It's when you know someone so well that you know you could spend the rest of your life with them.

Love is like the eternally warm, glowing embers that reside in your heart after the bonfire of infatuation burns down and you see your partner for who they truly are.

Sometimes right away, other times longer. When I was younger I felt it quicker and stronger even if I couldn’t put words to it for the other person right away, but then my heart got broken a few times and it became harder. With my current partner I realized I loved him when I couldn’t imagine my life without him. We had a mutual friend that I decided that I was going to end the friendship and I was more terrified of losing him than I was that friendship, we started dating after that. We had known each other for a few years at that point but hadn’t actually gotten to know each other until we both started hanging around that mutual, but very toxic, friend

I usually know when im in love but a couple weeks ago my guy best friend that I've know for 2 years made it obvious saying he couldn't believe i can't recognize when a guy likes him and I said wym and he just straight up told me.
