Are you willing to try out hobbies your partner likes at least once?

Follow up since a lot of people said me wanting a partner to at least try out my hobbies at least once wasn't a good standard to have. If they don't like it after that then thats fair. And i also would attempt to partake in their hobbies too of course. Especially if they have never tried it ever in their lives even before meeting your partner.

For me its not a requirement but could be a big positive for a relationship if they share in a few hobbies. they can create potential bonding moments.

My hobbies are mostly the nerdy ones like video games, comics, reading, table top board games etc.

Yeah i don't mind trying them out at least once. I may end up liking them

Nah I think i can tell before i try a hobby if ill like it or not. I don't need to try it once to figure that out

I think it'd be a honor to try, I don't care what it is, because it's important to her. You like to make sock puppets you say? Awesome! Let's go to Michael's (craft store)! We'll put on a show for the rescue kittens! You like [virtually anything outside or with critters]? Let's do this! I'll get the nummies/bandages/maps. You want to go knitting? Uhm... okay... can we do blankets for the rescue kittens! Full contact gardening? Always wanted to try it... finally!

Maybe. I have a variety of interests, so I might try it. But there are also things I know ahead of time I won't like. At my age, I've already tried a lot of things, and also have a pretty good idea what I will or won't like. If I tried a new hobby that my partner liked, I don't if it would anything I'd become passionate about.

The woman I've been seeing lately is real big into golf. She wants me to join her. I'm sure I'd like golf, but it's so expensive. The amount of money she spends golfing is more than half my total budget.

I know some things I just won't like, not bc I've tried them b4 but bc it have the same thing I don't like about something else in it. Like I don't like running bc it's just the same exercise over and over & exercise by itself is boring to me. So why would I like recreational/athletic biking? It's the same thing, just a different exercise. So no I won't try it. But if it's something I've never tried b4 and don't have good reason to think I won't like, then yes ofc I'd try it! I tried crocheting. I didn't like it, but I tried it.

Can’t say you don’t like it if you’ve never tried it. I’d be happy to try out his hobbies, and I have a few times. Some of his hobbies that I’ve tried are a bit too complicated for me, for example playing Magic The Gathering, but it makes him happy when I play with him so it’s worth the headache that I get from trying to understand the game 😂

Of course. I think the more interests a couples shares, the easier the relationship will be. And taking interest in things for the sake of your partner is also a very relationship-healthy quality.

When my wife tries my hobbies, she buys far more expensive kit than I have, tries it once and leaves it all to gather dust. Fortunately, we've run out of my hobbies to try.
