I've been seeing this guy, and he's usually sweet and introverted, but we've been having some issues. The thing is, we're not even officially together, but he's been showing some toxic behavior. So, one time when I was at his place, I ended up staying longer than I wanted to. When I finally said I had to go, he hugged me tightly and wouldn't let me leave. I kept telling him I had to leave, but he just wouldn't listen, and it took like a whole hour before I managed to get away. Plus, he's always snooping around my phone. He even tried to go through it while I was asleep. And he's made it clear that he doesn't like my friends. He gets mad whenever I hang out with them and it got to the point where he left marks on me. We haven't talked for two weeks now, and I miss him, but I'm really scared of him. What do you guys think?

Go back and read what you wrote and you tell me if it’s abuse. Is leaving marks on your body a sign he loves you? Is wanting to isolate you from your friends a sign that he loves you? Is invading your privacy a sign that he loves you? I guarantee you that it isn’t. If you’re feeling scared, trust that feeling and get out of this relationship.

Okay one I’m pretty sure that’s false imprisonment and his looking through your phone is obviously a breach of privacy..
He sounds very toxic and the fact that you’re scared of him is concerning.
