We're in the middle of a move, and I'm in the middle of finishing up my masters degree. If I combine work and study, I'm at about 80-90 hours a week. We're moving right now and my wife is now saying that I'm not being a man because I'm not helping her move as much as she'd like. I moved the heavy things, and offered to pay movers to help her. Now she's shaming me saying I should just get up and do these things even if she offers. I'm already at a breaking point with the amount of hours I'm putting in. Am I really doing something wrong here?

No, you had three right idea to hire people. If your wife refused that, then the result is to let her take care of it on her own.

That said, moving house is one of the top 5 most stressful things for many adults.

It would be worth looking into taking a short leave from work and school to help move.

I took a week off work for my last move and it really helped me feel settled. I have some three moves solo and they're a lot of work.

Your wife is trying to manage this all on her own.

Push for the hiring of movers, and take some time from what you can to help your wife.

She's not emasculating you. She's overwhelmed and needs you. If anything, she's asking for your manly help.

No seriously, the time consuming part is the packing, the moving once everything is packed (and therefore heavy) takes no time. I moved a 3000sqft house worth of stuff on a Saturday and half a Sunday because everything was already packed. You've accounted for your 80 hours, how much is your wife working?
