My friends are suggesting my male best friend and me to start a situationship, should we?

okay so me and my male best friend have been shipped for the last 2 years, our friends say that we look good together and that we are very much alike. I don't like him and he doesn't either, but we are open to give it a try. However, we already tried once, which lasted for only 2 days, but we both got really awkward. we both think that it might affect the friendship. i like someone else, but that guy already like some other girl and we are just good friends right now. my male best friend is actually a great guy and he is the perfect choice for any girl but i'm scared that either i'll say something that might hurt his feelings, or i'll get bored, or that i won't be able to develop any feelings for him since currently i like someone else.

It can be a good idea to make your male best friend your boyfriend. In fact, at your age chances are high that this is secretly his dream already.

Some girls find it difficult to still develop romantic interest for a guy who is already too familiar to them. If you do not have this difficulty, then it's all the better for you.

While I'm in favor of the idea as such, I do not like the "situationship" in it. It will be so much better to really be together as girlfriend and boyfriend "officially" which also includes being sexually exclusive. Both of you can get hurt more easily when things are not clear.
