How do I talk to the guy I like at church?

So there’s a guy at my church that I think I really like but I don’t know how to talk to him. We had a conversation a couple of weeks ago, and that was good. I really don’t know what to say to him as I’m scared he won’t like me back. I’m still a bit upset over what my ex did to me so I’m scared to even talk to this new guy and let him know me because I don’t want the same thing to happen again. I know it’s not right to compare him with my ex, but I can’t help but fear. I don’t know how to know if he even likes me back. He initiated the conversation we had a week or so ago and it went well. Usually there’s not enough time to talk because we get there a bit late and my parents do all the talking to him. Both of our parents are usually around us too and I feel it’s harder to talk with parents around. I only get to be around him on Sunday Mornings and that’s only once a week. I see him at the other church services but we aren’t near each other. I feel it would be easier if I had his number, but I want him to ask for my number because I’m too scared he won’t like me like I like him. I’m too scared to be like “hey what’s your number” in case he doesn’t like me back. But I really would love to get to know him. My mom says he’s always looking at me and that means he likes me, but tbh I really don’t know. I just really want to get to know him, but only getting to talk once a week is kind if hard. Please also let me know some things to talk to him about because I’m kind of shy and don’t really know how to start a conversation. Thank you for reading. Have a blessed day. 🙃
