When did you feel that you were ready for a relationship?

I was ready for a relationship as soon as I had a chance for my first girlfriend at age 16. We were deeply infatuated but I had no intention of getting married or having kids. But she was beautiful and really good people. I'm actually Facebook friends with her. She's a happy grandma now

I had three other long term relationships before my late 20s. They were all wonderful.

I went through about a five year break from girlfriends because of work and a complete change in lifestyle. As a result of that, I gained weight and didn't like myself.

I finally got used to my job and lifestyle. I lost weight and got back in good shape. I liked the new me.

By then, I decided that I was ready for marriage.

I met a lady named Leila when I was 34. At first, she was wonderful. But after almost a year, she fucked me over. As it turned out, she had emotional issues that I had not been aware of.

I met another woman named Petra when I was 36. She was 30. We wound up living together for over a year. She was the first woman I ever loved with my heart and soul. And she loved me. Unfortunately, as it turned out, we could not be life partners and separated. It's too complicated to explain.

It was the worst pain I have ever experienced. It took me over a year to pull myself together and move on with my life.

I met my future wife when I was 40. We got married two years later and have been happily married now for 26 years. We just celebrated our anniversary on the 6th. We have had a LOT of fun and built a wonderful life together.

Petra and I reconnected 13 years ago and even spoke on the phone as fiends. I knew we couldn't be together but it was wonderful being in touch and knowing that she was doing well. Then, five years later, I heard that she had died from a sudden medical problem at the age of 55. I was devastated. I will always love and will never forget her. But that doesn't detract from how much I love my wife. She is my perfect life partner.

I was a freshman in college and really was determined not to get involved with anyone. I met somebody who somehow managed to get my attention and soon I found myself falling in love with her. Still I did not want to be in a relationship with her. Then after spring break she started going out with this other guy and that was when I decided that I was ready to tell her how I felt about her.,

It doesn't have a specific time descibable though and so to speak, when I notice my heart beats up harsly and passionately I could say that I am ready for the relationship. First of all, enough intimacy and close friendship before relationship are required to get to know each other better. Then, I would go for expressing my feelings over her.
