He needs some time apart?

Me and my boyfriend got into a argument this morning and he told me we need some time apart. Then he said he’s done. I asked him if we are broken up and he told me to decide what I want and get back to him. He told me to figure out my emotions and then reach out. He always told me in the beginning that he does not believe in taking breaks from a relationship but now all of a sudden we get into an argument and he wants a break?

Seems like he might be feeling overwhelmed and needs space to cool off. Guys aren't always the best at communicating emotions, so "time apart" could just mean he wants a few days to process without yelling.

I wouldn't necessarily think it's a full breakup yet, but it's good he's letting you figure out what YOU want too. Take some time for yourself - hang with your girls, have fun, don't sit home crying. Show him you're still your own person.

Then hit him up in a few days calm and collected. Be like "yo I been thinking and I still wanna make us work. We good?" See what he says. If he's still unsure, may just need more time.

Don't chase him or beg though - keep it cool and confident. He'll respect you more for handling it mature instead of emotionally, feel me? Arguements are normal - what matters is if you can get past them stronger.

Stay positive! This could just be a little speed bump. Have faith you guys got this, aight? Keep your head high sis!
