I was sleeping last night and I woke up from a silent sleep, startled by the sound of his text tone. I had not been dreaming or anything. It was so clear and so real that it startled me awake. Yet, when I checked my phone, I saw nothing. We are in separation, but we do still communicate a couple times a week. We both have things we have to address right now. But what would it mean if I heard his text tone and he hadn’t texted me?

That's called waking up and dreaming you heard a sound.. my partner does it all the time.

Yes but I always remember them lol. Always. And I can tell you exactly what I saw when I heard the sound. It was black. I was actively aware of the pitch black nothingness.
