Why Does He Like Other Girls Posts and Not Mine?

Backstory:

There's this guy I had relations with and we used to message each other all the time, a few times til the early morning. He had never wanted a relationship, though he says he likes me as a person and had some kind of feelings/attraction towards me. After what happened between him and I, I unfollowed him for some time. I had recently followed him back on social media and had him follow me.

A pattern that I've always saw was that he would always like other girls posts and not mine and he views my stories a lot. He's only ever liked 3 of mine compared to other girls and a girl I used to be friends with. He likes pretty much all of her posts. The reason why her and I feel out was because one night I told her I was falling for him, she went out with her boyfriend and friends, got drunk, invited him and told him "By the way, (I) was in love with him!" Which completely ruined things. Lost my trust in her and we had a fall out.

Note: Though she has a boyfriend, she was also attracted to him. And they both follow each other on 3 different platforms.

Why does, or do do some guys do this?

I personally wouldn't view his not liking your posts but liking other girls' as a measure of whether or not he likes you. I have had crushes where I didn't like their posts. It doesn't indicate anything.

But him not wanting a relationship with you does indicate more of how he feels about you, I think. He basically told you how he feels-- he might like you a bit or might find you attractive, but not enough for a relationship with you. I would forget about him and go for other guys.

My ex and I had our own thing. He himself liked almost everything I posted, just never FBed it. Same with me to him!

I’m so full of never ending gratitude that I (by age alone) was able to completely side step the intricacies and nuances of social media when I was dating. It’s just not a world I want to be part of and see zero worth in it. Having said that, my sympathies for having to deal with that reality. My only advice, coming from a man who ‘doesn’t get it’ is to just ask him. I have found in life the polite directness and honesty is a wise policy.

I have been told that I am a blunt, direct and forward person, which I agree with. I am that way and have been that way, especially with him, in the past. But I'm afraid if I ask a question like that, he'll a) still think I'm into him, b) know I'm "stalking" his followers or c) crazy! And then he'll unfollow me or something. But I just want to get a guys pov because a lot of guys do this and they have explanations. It's quite universal. Also, a lot of the pictures he likes from other girls are posts where they're dressed either revealing or cute. When I post pictures of myself they're not revealing but they're cute!

So, then, that is probably what it’s all about. He’s fascinated by the pretty girls showing off their goodies. (Maybe they aren’t pretty, but just showing off anyhow.) It almost seems like you have identified your own reason why you think he’s liking their posts more than yours. The only thing I would advise is not to change who you are. Stay true to you.

Thank you and I always will stay true to and for me, no matter how cute the guy is. But how do you explain him liking my ex friends posts?
