He come to visit me and requested a gift he wanted before he arrived, he offered to pay but I declined (I was happy to get it for him)

Whilst he was visiting he brought lots of gifts for nieces and nephews and others but nothing for me.

I think my face must have looked shocked when I found out he had brought for others. He offered to buy me a gift but I could see I was an afterthought and he was only offering because he hadn't thought of me.

Am I overthinking, this seems selfish.

A man pays for the date, always. And don't expect for a gift always, but if you rarely get one, and it is this time of year everyone else got one, no point in not getting you one.

Don't accept an invite when its an afterthought. This applies to everything.

You are not actually. A man should rarely give gifts, but if he is giving everyone and has not yet given you one, then that is off putting.

This is a sign that he wants to tell you or other people you are not as much as a priority as they or you thought.

Thank you, yes I'm old lol. But the guy in question is really shit at getting things right. Sometimes he really tries and fails lol. So my ability to detect if he's being selfish or not is compromised cause he's just dopey. Only men seem to be able to distinguish if he's being selfish or not. Hense why I'm on here. I only understand us girls. Men are a whole other species to me.
