Trending & News It's because, the occasional shitbird aside, most people who are in a committed relationship have a sense of duty to their partner (and their children if they have any), and so they have more reason to make better decisions and avoid needless risks. Of course they won't be perfect, but if they average 5-10 pointless events of risky or short-sighted behavior per week, while single people average closer to 100 such events per week, it doesn't take a genius to understand why far more single people will end their existence prematurely compared to those in a relationship.
Of course, having their partner give them sensible input when they are about to do something stupid also helps, but that only works when they are physically together - the sense of duty is always with you, even if your partner isn't present at the moment.
because happiness reduces stress and stress is one of the leading causes to aging rapidly. alongside things like sleeping around, alcohol, drugs, smoking
Probably because it can increase or decrease your stress levels dramatically which has a big impact on health and life expectancy
Because unless it turns black and drops off most men won't see a doctor unless his wife nags him.
There is certainly a bit of truth to that, but on the other hand, women run to the doctor with every scrape and sniffle, not to mention the "emotional trauma" of not being able to get reduced-fat Ranch dressing for her salad.
There should probably be a middle ground, but I'm not holding my breath.

It's a butterfly effect, relationships limit people to and from doing certain activities, that combination of circumstances created by relationships is what causes this, not the relationship itself
Stress is one of the causes of heart attacks, over eating / under eating, smoking, drinking and other drug use, high blood pressure etc. bad relationships increase stress.
We are social beings. A quality of relations reduce stress levels, which at the same time avoid many biological process that negatively impacts our health.
Probably happiness and well being, stress levels.
For the same reason they push gender equity, Critical Race Theory, experimental COVID vaccines, etc. They're morons.
