They're like the cool side of the pillow in the world of human connections. 😄 Basically, a platonic relationship is when two people have a close friendship that's entirely non-romantic and non-sexual. It's like having a buddy who you deeply care for, enjoy hanging out with, but there's no romantic spark or desire for anything more than just good, old-fashioned friendship.
You know how in most friendships you share interests, have deep conversations, maybe support each other through thick and thin? That's the heart of a platonic relationship. It's all about a strong, emotional bond that doesn't cross into the territory of romance or physical attraction.
And the cool thing? These relationships can happen between anyone, regardless of their gender or background. It's like having a friend who's there for the pure joy of shared experiences and mutual respect, without any of the complications that sometimes come with romantic feelings.
In today's world where everything seems to be categorized and labeled, it's refreshing to have a type of relationship that's just about genuine, uncomplicated friendship. Plus, it's a great reminder that love isn't just about romance; it can be about strong friendships too! 🌟
Where you’re just friends nothing romantic or sexual. Named for the Greek philosopher Plato, who allegedly had only platonic relationships with women because he was gay.
A platonic relationship is just having a friendship with someone. No sexual and romantic attraction between the people.
A platonic relationship is one in which neither person has any romantic or sexual interest in the other, despite them being their preferred sex for that purpose. It's being "just friends" not just in action but also in motivation - platonic friends don't WANT to be more than friends.
And since we're talking about it, it needs to be mentioned that, while most women can be "just friends" with men, the vast majority of men are not able to be "just friends" with women. They often pretend to be, but in nearly all cases, the man wants to have sex with the woman, and his behavior towards her is affected by that desire.
Well said. 🥂
very well said. and if you don't believe him ladies take any straight guy friend of your yours and message him the following "hey my relationship just ended and I need someone to talk to and be with" you'll know what we mean after that
@Sasha0426 text one and ask him to come over for some fun. let us know what the response is
@Sasha0426 wife response: he told you to do that to prove a point and you did prove it. if they wouldn't think twice then messaging them would not have been a problem. You not wanting to message them also proves that under the bravado you actually know that they would. it is why women and men don't make good friends. I will never be alone with a man except my husband because I know men become friends with women in the hopes of something more. every woman from my country knows this it is told and taught to us by our mothers and we teach it to our daughters
@Sasha0426 no they wouldn't. they wouldn't want to jeopardize the friendship unless they felt they had a chance. most of them more than likely feel they do not have a chance as you have not displayed any interested. and okay inviting them for sex might be a bit forward. text them and tell them you have been thinking a lot about them lately and that you think you might be romantically interested. I would bet they will be real quick to respond. some of them very well could respond negatively but...
@Sasha0426 or you know you could not do it because you know that the outcome would prove what we are saying
@Sasha0426 mhm if you want to keep lying to yourself go for it. you could go even simpler and just call them middle of the night and ask them to come over because you need help. the reality you do not realize because you are lying to yourself is unless those guys are gay every one of them would go out with you if you asked.
@Sasha0426 I would never cheat on my partner because it is against my morals to do so. I also don't "fuck" I am physically incapable of being aroused without an emotional connection as it is. that is why I waited 23 years until i met the woman I would marry.
@Sasha0426 I don't have female friends for several reasons primary among them it would be vastly disrespectful and dishonorable to my wife if I were to have female friends.
wife response: if he were to have women friends he would want to sleep with them. he knows that and I know it. I also know he would never act on that want but that is the reality of men. every man knows that guys that are friends with women want to sleep with the woman. those guys will also wait as long as needed to make their move.
@Sasha0426 wife response: what I said is he would WANT to. wanting and doing are 2 very different things. he would never cheat on me and I know that. however him being sexually attracted to other women is hardwired into men. what isn't hardwired is acting on it. every man WANTS to sleep with more than 1 woman on a biological level if nothing else. Not every man WILL sleep with more than 1 woman. you are attempting to twist what we are saying and that will not work.
@Sasha0426 why is that? because I share my account with my wife? we wrote it in the profile of the account. she knows more about women issues I know more about men issues. then there are things we both know enough about. lets us answer a fair majority of questions with the one with the most experience or knowledge being able to lead.
@Sasha0426 of course
Sounds like someone was trying to put your brother in that “just friends” mode.
A Platonic relationship is a sexless relationship, just friends. Normally one person in that type of relationship (normally the guy) is hoping for more.

A platonic relationship is one where the partners do not have sex.
It's a relationship that's "just friends" like in the time of Plato (student of Socrates).
You're 40 years old and you don't know how to explain what "just friends" means to someone who is presumably within 20 years of your age, making him at least 20?
Where are you from that this is such an unheard of concept?
A relationship in which it is clearly established that physical intimacy is not part of the agenda.
Platonic- I like your shoes
Romantic- I want to hold your hand
Sexual- Let's fuck
The platonic relationship non-physical. It is defined and bound to be strictly intellectual in nature.
If he's above 20, just tell him he got friendzoned.
If not, then I would be asking questions, what led to the girl explicitly mentioning that their relationship is platonic. What did he say or do?
hmmmm. if only there were some resource that gave the meaning, definition if you will, of words like a dictionary.
From a guy's point of view, it's a friendship with a girl you absolutely do not find physically appealing or attractive. Otherwise, you are either fooling yourself and everybody around you; or you are fucking gay.
It’s strictly a friendship between a guy and a girl. No romantic feelings.
It is one where there is no sex just love between the 2 people it means a relationship with out sex
How old is he? Does he know the basics of mammalian reproduction?
A platonic relationship is a friendship or family relationship. Any relationship that is not romantic in nature.
a platonic relationship would be like the bond between you and your grandma.. ahem, or a dog if you're in Alabama of course ahha
Platonic love is one-sided love. A platonic relationship is a relationship where one party becomes a lover for reasons such as forgetting someone they love and the other party wanting to have someone in their life.
Without looking it up I think it's basically no feelings or romance like basically just sex maybe not even like friends
Basically a friendship.
friendly (love) but not sexual
A s*xless one.
Friendship.
A relationship with Plato
just explain that he should run from it
@Sasha0426 I hope your son doesn't look like you
@Sasha0426 I'm glad you don't have children... I normally try not to be mean, but you deserved it
@Sasha0426 go bother someone else
Friend zone
No expectations.
You're 40...
