Why do people try to flaunt their new relationship ship in front of someone they used to have feelings for?

It might. But for me, even though i didn't like the guy anymore, I ended up feeling a bit of resentment over him. He made me dislike myself a lot, because he had feelings for each of my friends and continued to ignore me. It made me feel like no guy was ever going to like me for me. I asked for advice from my parents and they said I should change a bit about my appearance- wear contacts, make-up, etc- if I wanted any guy to actually like me.

So because I had feelings for someone, I developed many issues over my appearance and self. I didn't want to blame him (he's a great guy, we're still friends today) but I continued to harbour anger towards him for this. I flaunted my relationship in front of his face for that reason. Not because I was into him, just for my own personal gratification... to feel like I've proved him wrong for rejecting me
