So my boyfriend of 9 months used to invite me to his house in the beginning of relationship when his mom and dad and sister all lived together. His mom and dad split up and sister moved out. I started school so I could not go over much anyway. I am on winter vacation and I asked him how come he doesn’t invite me over anymore and he said it’s awkward becsaue it’s just him and his dad at the house. His dad works late nights so my boyfriend is home by himself almost every night. My boyfriend comes to my house all the time but it’s weird that it’s awkward for me to go by him. Guysss any advice?

Dang that is kinda weird. A few thoughts:

- If it's just him and his dad home most nights, why would it be awkward to have you over? That doesn't really make sense.

- You guys have been dating for almost a year now, so it's not like you're some new fling he needs to hide from his dad.

- If he comes to your place all the time, it seems unfair that he doesn't invite you to his too sometimes. Like you said, a relationship should go both ways.

- Maybe he's hiding something at his spot or not being totally honest about having you around his dad? Kinda suspicious behavior.

I'd call him out politely but firmly. Be like "look, that excuse doesn't fly anymore. What's the real reason you never wanna hang at your place? If you wanna keep this relationship balanced, I need to be made to feel more comfortable there too."

Set a boundary - he either lets you come over sometimes or you'll start limiting how much you host him at your house. Don't let him take you for granted! You deserve transparency from your man.
