Would it be OK to ask and how should I ask him?
"I don't know if you have any plans or how tired you'll be after work but if you'd like, wanna hangout? Maybe watch a movie?"
i agree with fooly, id love it to. and as for the wording, simplicity is best. or you could play the damsel in distress, and tell him youd be scared all alone and need someone to cuddle with. doesn't really matter how you word it, if he's came over before I'm sure he won't hesitate to again
haha it would work for me ;)
i think that you should ask him to come over stay the night because your friend is away and no funny business will take place. Or you can ask him for things and eventually give him reasons to stay longer, like renting a movie and having no one to watch it with or something.

Yes! I would love that.
I would definitely not mention that you are scared of sleeping without someone around. That sounds kind of weird. Food sounds like a good idea. You could mention that your roommate is gone, so he can sleep there if he wants.
Alright, that doesn't sound as bad as it does in your question.
lol it's no big deal on here; just make sure you word it well to him.
"Could you sleep in my room tonight? It's going to be lonely without my roommate. I have some food we can share."
I'm alone and bored, do you want to come over?
Hey...wanna hang tonight...maybe watch a movie
