What makes you realize you want more in a relationship? Do you get awkward or more confident? What are things you would never do for a casual fling you would only do for a serious relationship?

For me, I think that chemistry is the most important thing in a relationship. Chemistry consists of similarities such as similar interests, views, goals in life, communication style, sense of humor, etc. If a girl has all those qualities in common with me, I'm attracted to her physically and she's kind hearted, then I see no reason why I would not want things to be serious with her, unless she wasn't up for it.

I don’t speak for all guys, but I know a lot of us start with the idea of something serious and then downgrade it to casual when we find out things that are non-negotiables in our LTR requirements.

Yup, this is why situationships are a thing. The woman is wondering why the guy won’t make the extra effort or take the casual relationship further but the guy already either wrote off an official relationship or is at least indecisive about it- but being in whatever they’re in is still preferable to being alone.

If you find yourself in one of these it’s possible to move back up into LTR territory in his mind but it’s difficult. You have to know why he changed his mind on you to begin with. It could be anything from your religious beliefs to politics to desire for or against having kids. If you’ve never met his close friends or family it’s a very bad sign.
