What do you think about fear of rejection in a relationship?

I, sometimes, feel that I have a fear of rejection, that's why I do not approach that person and act coldly. Have you ever felt the same?

But, here’s the thing – as nerve-wracking as it is, isn't that vulnerability part of what makes relationships so exciting? Sure, you might get rejected, but what if you don't? What if they actually feel the same way? You'd never know unless you took that leap.

And let’s talk about self-esteem for a sec. Constantly worrying about rejection can really make you second-guess yourself. Been there, done that. It's like you start thinking you're not good enough or something. But honestly, that’s usually more about our own insecurities than the other person. Communication is the real MVP in these situations. I mean, how many misunderstandings could be avoided if people just talked about how they felt? It’s not easy, but getting things out in the open can save a whole lot of overthinking and heartache.

It’s just something that almost all of us will have to face at some point. Not everyone is going to like you or be attracted to you, just like how you’re not going to like or be attracted to everyone. Sometimes the fear comes from thinking too highly of someone while thinking too lowly of yourself. Overcoming the fear involves facing it. Allow yourself to be rejected.

A little nervousness is fine but don't stress yourself when it comes to approaching someone you like.
Fear of rejection feels to me same as imposter syndrome before attending a job intreview. The best part you are not losing anything. You are just learning. If someone rejects you at least they know now that you liked them.

If you cannot approach someone directly, you could look for opportunities that could bring you closer to the person. That does not means running behind those opportunities but let things flow themselves once you are in the situation. At that point free yourself of any fears.

In life if you never try you will never know & as for me I look at rejection differently. Rejection happen & it happens to all of us from time to time & when it does you just have to move on. As for me when I get rejected I look at it like they did me a favor & subconsciously she knows she isn’t good enough for me. Shit happens, life moves on.

A lot if people fear rejection. It's very normal. We have to overcome those fears and realize that we aren't going to be everyone's pick. That's ok because we are some people's picks.

Yes, ma'am. I would add that for many guys, being rejected can actually be a somewhat positive experience, especially if we can interact with her in a more non sexual manner.

I've found that most women are losing propositions overall. So I have no reason to approach. When they approach I consider and say yes or no.
