My fiancé said he’s fine with me being friends with male colleagues at work but would prefer I didn’t give them my number or social media. Is this reasonable?

There is no right or wrong answer. This depends on what you are comfortable with and whether he offers the same promise to you. To me, it sounds like he may be a bit controlling and I would be looking for other signs of a controlling personality.

Your choice to have and share what ever information you want.

However he also has a choice. If he doesn't agree with you sharing what he obviously considers as private information, and you do, he can choose to walk away.

Neither of you are required to stay in a relationship with someone who doesn't agree with your perceived expectations.

Your fiancé is well aware that if you want to be respect you should keep things with your colleagues professional. Sharing your social media is allowing your colleagues to see bits of your personal life. I'm not a fan of being friends with co-workers I'm friendly to all of them but the least they know about my personal life the better.

Good point, that would allow them to see what you post on social media. And there are a lot of things I don’t want some of my co-workers to know.

There are some of my co workers I don’t want to have my number, but I have on social media. That is my choice. The question I would have is, why is he afraid to let you make the choice yourself? Is he so insecure he thinks if someone you work with can call or message you he’ll lose you?

Is that a rule he follows himself its pointless asking us if thats reasonable as everyone set different boundaries inside relationships all u can really compare it too is himself I personally wouldn't be with someone who thought thats a boundary they can set for me
