Why is being superficial on rise?

In most cases what a person prefers will skew their idea of what is deep or superficial.

If you care about health for example, outward beauty stops being superficial, and instead becomes very deep. And even just beauty by itself as an aesthetic can be deep in the artistic eye sense.

Society and culture is manipulated by corporations to promote consumerism. Politicians promote division so they can get away with more.
