What exactly makes someone superficial? Like what are some characteristics or traits?

A scenario in which someone would be superficial: They met a man/woman who has everything they want in a partner; good chemistry, they find them attractive, funny, kind, etc. but they won't date them out of fear of what their friends and family and peers would say. Superficial is when you care about what others think too much and judge by someone else's standards. Like this person would be fine to date but I can't risk losing my social status for you

Number one thing that usually makes people supericial...

- they are very pretty or very handsome and have always relied on looks and materialistic things to get people to like them. Of course this is not for every attractive person, but I have noticed that less attractive people often have more personality and depth. I think apart of it may be because they never had that pretty face to do the work for them.
