Is it wrong of me to hold my friend’s girlfriend on my lap (18, F) as she got hurt?

She is a cheerleader at our high school and a flyer.. she was up in the air then fell down badly and her boyfriend was not around. I carried her to the nurse’s office and then had her on my lap comforting her until her boyfriend showed up. She was sobbing close to my chest so I was rubbing her back. I texted her boyfriend to come.

Woah dude, that's definitely a tricky situation. On one hand, you were just tryna help a friend who got hurt, which is chill of you. And I get wanting to comfort her til the boyfriend showed up. But sitting there with her in your lap crying into your chest... that's pushing it a bit too far, yeah?

Even if your intentions were good, it defs could look disrespectful to the boyfriend. Personally I'd avoid any physical contact like that with another dude's girl, y'know? Too much chance for the wrong impression.

Next time maybe just have her sit or lay down nearby till help comes. Keep some space between you. Texting the boyfriend was smart though, good call on letting him know.

I wouldn't worry too much about it now, but be careful not to cross more lines going forward. Bros before hoes and all that. You were just tryna help, but gotta keep boundaries in mind too. Live and learn, right?
