Do people really have bad trust issues when it comes to relationships?

I know people always had trust issues when finding someone but I had no idea it was THIS bad these days. Like, people would get into relationships but have a hard time trusting their partner. Like, they’re always walking on eggshells. Especially, when it comes to marriage. It makes me wonder why anyone bothers anymore when no one wants to build trust.

And what would make someone take their relationship to marriage if they’re always on edge? Like, what do they see in their partner to want to go that far? Or do they do it just because their partner wants it despite them having trust issues?

Probably because of social media , Social media played a huge part on damaging the foundations of a relationship , brainwashing people’s minds to believe in nonsense , making it harder for people to trust one another , I see a ton of memes on the internet that say things like , If your partner is doing this , it means they are doing that etc. Sadly some of it can be true but most the time it isn’t , I lived in a time when social media wasn’t really a thing , and when you met someone you pretty much respected that person and valued that person more because your brain wasn’t bombarded by nonsense of cheating backstabbing, betrayal etc. We weren’t glued to our phones , we actually looked at the world around us. So we didn't really even think of that stuff , compared to how the world is today with social media and technology, pretty much everyone is face planted to their phones feeding their minds with things that really shouldn’t matter , Who gives a fuck what someone is eating today , who gives a fuck where other people are traveling lol

Yes I’ll admit I do because I’ve been cheated on mmany times. As well as I think the world has raised more and more people that have narcissistic behavioral personalities. This disorder almost requires them to cheat to feel well fed. They don’t even think twice.
however going into a new relationship, she has 100% of my trust. It’s a new start so it’s not about building trust more than it is reenforcing the new. It’s when they start doing weird shit that my alarms go off. When we start a relationship as we are meeting each other and learning about each other, people have habits and routines and you get used to those kind of unspoken deal but you tend to know where they’re at during the day at work where they go to lunch you know it’s just things you talk about. But then when they break off and disappear for hours at a time, seem nervous, just do all the things that normally they wouldn’t do. That’s when my red flags go up.

Trust takes a few years to earn, you are supposed to earn it from eachother as friends, and only start dating after that point. But people want to skip all that waiting and so they jump into relationships blind, and so of course there is no trust.

I agree with everything that you have said, trust ain't found or ain't strong anymore not only in couples but with everyone in general...

That's why these days i need a miracle to find someone who is really trustworthy, especially if someone had suffered from bad past experiences...

Unfortunately humans just can't be 100% trusted.

We all deep down know it's true so most or nearly all humans will have trusting problems in a relationship but they just have to learn to deal with it the best way they can or the relationship will fall apart.

I think we all have unbounded trust in our first love. After they go to a gang bang they did not invite us to, our trust levels are permanently degraded.

It then takes a lot to build up trust in the next partner. And needs even more to marry.

A lot of people have huge trust issues, yes. That kind of thing is usually the result of bad relationships with parents and/or a series of bad dating and friendship experiences.

You’re not totally wrong. But, the stories I’ve heard how men want prenups or paternity tests is insane. Or even women wanting to know if their man is being faithful.

Women are under so much sexual pressure via social media that it makes it almost impossible for a man to trust a woman who uses social media.
