How do you feel about mutual ownership in a relationship or marriage?

This was inspired by another person's comment about never being owned by anyone..

I personally feel like I very much belong to my wife. I don't feel like the term ownership is a bad one here, cause I don't feel like I'm her possession. But I do feel like I belong to her mind body and soul. And after discussing this with my wife and getting her input she feels the same about me, she feels like she belongs to me.

I don't get what's so bad about that

Some of the women are missing the point, it's not about owning another person, it's about feeling like husband belongs to wife and wife belongs to husband. It's about loyalty, about not forsaking your partner for someone else, about sharing your life together.

I feel like I belong to my boyfriend and vice versa but I wouldn’t necessarily say that he owns me. He owns my heart and soul for sure but I still have a life outside of the relationship that is exclusive to me. There are things that I do that I prefer my boyfriend to stay out of (like how I de-stress by doing my own nails or going on a hike alone). I guess I can say that my boyfriend “owns” a big chunk of me but there are parts of me that are not up for grabs lol

I don't like the word ownership. But I do believe in total commitment, loyalty, respect for and dedication to each other. We have the same goals - commitment to each other's welfare and happiness, and building a future together. We do that because it's what we both want.

At the same time, I don't control her and she doesn't control me. Neither of us is the boss. We are equal partners.

We share a lot of common interests but we also have our own interests. So, we have the freedom to do what we want because we trust each other.
