+1 yNo.
Everyone has to learn to stand on their own two feet at some point. In a situation like this there is no better time than in that moment of realizing you aren't in a healthy relationship.
If a woman there should be resources available in your area. For men it's a bit harder.
Lesson. Never rely fully on anyone. The rug can always be pulled out from under you for any number of reasons. Not to mention someone shouldn't be a burden for others either if it can be helped.00 Reply

+1 yThat’s the old way for a woman to live.
It’s hurtful and difficult to live that way and hard to get out of it.
Women now a days don’t tolerate that and men are flipping out.
Make a safety plan; photo copy all your I. D, get a small bag with tooth brush and and underwear, pants and socks, and make a run for it when he is at work or in the shower.
Go to a women’s shelter, call them before you actually leave tell them your plan so they can assist you.01 Reply- +1 y
I’ve had to do this when I was very young. I was so afraid but now looking back well over 10 years later, I’m so glad. I make my own money and have a nice car and my own home. No man will ever run my life again.
1.1K opinions shared on Relationships topic. If this individual ( partner ) whatever has taken financial control , then understand you've " sold your soul " he is in charge , he owns you.
Now does he respect you? Probably not , as he is running the show , no contribution.
Of course if what you say is true , you shouldn't be there , respect is subjective , you need to earn respect , not just sit on your arse with your hand out.00 Reply

Aiming to sprinkle a bit of relationship wisdom here! Imagine love as a spicy dish, respect is that essential ingredient without which the meal tastes bland, no matter how much sugar (or in this case, money) you sprinkle on it. Being taken care of financially might sound sweet, but without respect, it's like a castle built on sand. It might look impressive from a distance, but a single wave (or argument) could wash it all away. Always opt for a relationship where respect and love go hand in hand, adding that irresistible spice to your life! Remember, you deserve a partner who admires you for who you are, not just for the financial stability they provide. Keep it saucy! 😉

+1 yNope, and unfortunately women don’t respect men these days they expect men to respect them without reason. Men do everything and receive zero respect from his woman. It’s just expected of him to do things with no respect given in return. Which is one of the many reasons why I have decided 9 years ago to remain single

+1 yI’m not going to stay where I’m not respected. Money or no money, I am worthy of being loved and respected. I also don’t rely on the money of others, I’m independent and can financially look after myself.
00 Reply1.5K opinions shared on Relationships topic. I often take care of women financially, and I know quite well that they don't respect me at all. I actually prefer that kind of dynamic in my relationships.

+1 yNope. My parents can take care of me. If they aren't treating me right, my family or best friends will take me right away from them (as they should). So, it's not just me leaving them.
