Is love real or is it an illusion?

Sometimes I feel it and sometimes I don't. I feel like I'm pressured most of the time to feel it but it feels like an illusion to me most of the time.

Love is real, but a lot of people don't really understand what love is and/or they over-idealize it - in a "Disney Princess"/"happily ever after" type of way that's extremely unrealistic.

Love isn't the excitement - the "butterflies in your tummy" - that's sexual attraction and infatuation, which are much more temporary in nature. Love is also not romance, though love can underlie romance. Love is when you are perfectly willing to sacrifice yourself and your own interests to benefit the person you love - when you put their needs ahead of yours. Love is happily putting up with your partner's rough edges because you appreciate all of the work and effort and sacrifices they do for you.

Too many people completely misunderstand what love is, which is why they are so confused about it. You can't receive love unless you are willing to give it.

You give meaning and value to things.

You can perceive me as a sum of organs and flesh and bones and stuff. Or you can perceive me as something more.

You can see a Rembrandt painting as oil pigment on canvas or something more.

You can see love as just chemical reactions brain or something like that or something more.

And you can also take action that indicate that you value something. It's all up to you.

This isn't a question about facts. This is a question about values.

No one can feel for you, and no one can define for you what and how you should feel. Feelings are the most personal things, and they are created and changed throughout life.

If you are unsure of what and how you feel, give yourself time to discover what is behind your uncertainty. Retrospection is a powerful tool for identifying past events that affect our present.

love is real if men/women r feeling genuine real emotions n r with the right person
but it takes the right one to make u believe in it
which isn't guaranteed or that common to happen

I wasn't going to comment, and to be honest I really didn't want to, but whenever someone says "the right person" it for some reason infuriates me to the point I must refute their claim of such a thing being real.

I only started to believe in it when I found a guy who made me believe in it
then everything has changed
a person who keeps bumping into evil hateful people would eventually start thinking that all of people r as evil/fake as em or worse forgetting that good still exists, albeit not commonly

Typical response. I didn't believe in it until I did. And you can just as easily go back to not believing in it too. Good people exist, sure. But good people don't get anywhere in life. Women know this. And men seem to as well most just give up and let life take them wherever it wants to take them. Usually under a woman's boot

seeking to be better n doing good has generally caused me more harm than good in life YET I decided to keep doing good, way better than turning as bad as what I keep seeing
I am no angel, I make mistakes, I am nothing special but I TRY, always
I got rewarded after years with a guy like him, I believe my true reward won't come from humans but in a different form in this life
I would say biggest gain from it is my total inner peace

before n after moving out to live on my own I've always earned what I wanted
coming from a modest background I had my share of needing to work to earn n it all started before I even turn 18 not to mention my father believed I need to take responsibility so I won't grow up being a useless person who would want to have everything easily n that applies not on materials or financial stuff only but on lot of many other aspects of life

I would say it sucks for everyone but the rich ones or the ones who r capable to do whatever without a care in the world about anything else, for example being able to murder or to sell body, sell drugs etc

We hear you loud and clear. You hate women. And honestly I don't blame you. I may be what you hate but I can admit that we are conniving, cheating, entitled liars that use men up. And I'm not exempt to that very fact. Since the beginning of time we've been that way and it's just sad the state of society in how we are taking over. I wish things could go back to before feminism took place but unfortunately that's not going to happen. And I'm truly sorry what's happening to men. It's not right. The me too movement has made it absolutely difficult for men. Can't do anything without getting falsely accused. It's despicable honestly. But of course none of this matters coming from a woman so I will just end my rant here because you despise us all and as you should.
