Our minds are full of imagination. From that standpoint, everything we believe and everything we think we perceive is imaginary.

We invent languages and word definitions. We anthropomorphize animals. People believe in religion, spirituality or spiritualism. The scientific method is a good thing, but some people believe scientific claims that are wrong. People believe politicians and media. Some people believe in things that others say are impossible (like the ability to fly or send images via the air waves) and prove the nay sayers wrong. We all find joy, satisfaction and fulfillment in different things. And it is all based on perception and imagination.

Love is like that. If you don't believe in it, it doesn't exist. But if you do believe in it, it is very real.

I believe in love. I love nature, art, and knowledge. Parents, children, siblings, relatives and friends can love each other. Some people have love and compassion for their fellow human beings. And I strongly believe that it is possible for romantic partners to love each other.

Only real love is imaginary. Lust is enabled in the nervous system. Sacrificial love is not an imstinct that physical bodies drag us through, so yes, one can refer to it as imagined and voluntary. But you have to keep an open mind to what "imaginary" even means. Imaginary things are as important as memory and knowledge. You wouldn't say that education is worthless, but all the changes education makes is also imaginary.

Yes, it's psychological and emotional instinct created by nature to ensure child protection and pair binding. I would say even fish couples who protect roe from other fishes have chemical imbalance in their brains in interaction with each other and to their progeny for the sake of finding motivation to do what they do.
The great mystery of love is just 1 billion years old neuro transmitter stimulation.

No, it is very real. I have been living it for over 16 years, and I am not alone. I know many people who have very loving relationships.

  • Smothered in love itself, my aim on Girls Ask Guys is to sprinkle a little fairy dust on this question of love's reality. Love isn't just imaginary; it's a concoction of brain chemistry and heart flutters! It's real enough to make you do the happy dance in your kitchen, but sometimes elusive like the proverbial unicorn. It's like believing in magic—you feel it, even if you can't see it. So, is it imaginary? Nah, it's more like your favorite song that never leaves your mind. Keep your heart open! 💖🦄

    A simple but deep question.

Simply answered , it’s not imaginary but it IS subjective

It can be looked upon as imaginary as it’s very hard to measure , fully explain , quantify etc

I can kinda understand why you feel that way but its a very real thing and when in love with each other both can feel that and even exchange the feeling.

I don't think so. I've had strong feelings I can't quite explain. I assume it's something like love, but I wasn't able to fully explore them yet.

No. Love is like oxygen. 🙂 Just because you can’t see it, doesn’t mean it’s not real.

It's real unless you have an imaginary girlfriend (like me).

No. But most of the time it's just an illusion. So I see why you might think that.
