Do you agree that once you start arguing with someone, you've already lost?

This was the best piece of advice professionally someone gave me in my career as an entrepreneur.

It also kinda solidified my reputation as being a bit of a dick because I barely argue anymore, I just walk away and leave them to consider what I said and if they don't give me a chance to say it, then I distance them until they're ready to act like an adult.

9 times out of 10, they eventually cool off and either adapt to what I'm doing or come to me later so we can come to some kind of middle ground. The fact I leave the past in the past as soon as possible and give people the respect they're afraid I won't give them when they do come to me, it usually builds really loyal, respectful relationships with people.
