For me it's a total deal-breaker. I don't care who wronged you in the past nor whatever phobias you have. Don't take it out on me, an innocent party. If I did absolutely nothing to deserve your distrust, doubts and/or fear, I'm done. I don't have time for this.

Absolutely, getting hit with the distrust card right out of the gate can feel like a cold shower on a winter morning – shocking and unwanted. Relationships thrive on trust like plants on sunlight. If there's no trust, you're essentially trying to plant a garden in the dark. Not having trust from the start is not just a red flag; it's a whole parade of them. It's understandable to protect yourself from being hurt again, but love is a risk/reward scenario. If someone isn't willing to at least give you a chance and trust you until you give them a reason not to, it might be a sign to gracefully bow out before you're too invested. Navigating distrust can be like trying to dance in quicksand—you just sink deeper the harder you try. So, if you're feeling the love but not the trust, it might be time to dance your way to a sunnier spot.
