I had a brief relationship with Dion for 6 months in 2019. I believed he was the love of my life. He ended it abruptly which broke me. I spent 2019 to 2021 trying to get Dion back. He said he didn't want to be in a relationship as he needed to work on himself.

2021 I decided to try and move forward without him. I had a relationship with another man who was a provider and protector. However I found out he was cheating on me.

2024 Dion comes back into my life and says he actually does love me. He wants to get a place together. Be a family. I start to believe him. I agree to entertain the idea but we would have to take it slow.

March 2024 , Dion puts on a poetry slam event. He said that he didn't want me to attend as there will be women there that he was previously talking to or that "wanted him" or " hoped to be with him". He didn't want them to feel uncomfortable about me now being in the picture, so he said that I cannot attend his event. It was also his birthday during the poetry slam.

I immediately disconnected from Dion as I realised that this man is not serious because he could've uninvited the women but instead decided to exclude me. He also said that since we aren't in a relationship and are taking it slow, he thought it would be okay.

He is now currently asking me for another chance to prove he is now ready to be serious about me. He said he didn't realise the hurt he had caused at not inviting me. He's begging for one more chance.

Do I give him another chance or should I move on?

No, it's probably not a good idea. Don't waste more time on him, you already wasted 2 years.

He only talked to you when he was ready, yet he broke up out of nowhere and for no apparent reason, and ignored you for years. Which is fair, he didn't have to be with someone if he didny want to. But don't come saying then that you loved them all along, cause you clearly didn't.

Also to the other point of him needing to focus on himself, that looks like an excuse. Because he did have time to date plenty of other women (whom he invited to his event). And why would he even really care what they thought if he was 100% through and done with them and wanted to date you now! Tbh it seems like he is keeping his options open and taking advantage of your feelings for him.

He just seems sketchy to me. I'd ignore him if I was you. Don't let him interrupt your healing process.
