Being single and happy depends on your deep nature. I lived single since I was around 21 till I got married at the age of 25. My wife having passed away after 38 years of mariage, I live single since 2017. Honestly I don't complain, because I can walk my own path according mood, inspiration and fantasies without having to justify myself to anyone. About 5 years ago I got married for the second time, her second marriage too, and we both enjoy doing many of the same things, so now I have a ready partner to go off exploring with.
As far as being celibate that to me would have nothing to do with having fun or not.

It’s usually up to the man to stick his neck out. He is expected to approach, ask for a date, lead the conversion, make a romantic move (from a kiss to sex), etc. He is usually being “tested” by the woman the entire time unless she already really likes him. But I those scenarios the man is usually out their league to begin with. Rarely does a woman feel that way initially for her male equivalent.

Women on the other hand (if they are least semi attractive and you fall in that category) can sit back and just wait to be approached. The only true effort they need to put in is just being visible to men. Just being in their vicinity and being receptive to a man who says hello to them.

Now I know women have other challenges namely when they start dating a guy and figuring out where he stands, if it’s just about sex, etc. But the early stages (which is actually the hardest part) are usually far easier for them when all else equal. Most men on the other hand have to deal with a LOT more rejection.
